Fantasy Football Outlook Week 10

I guess Kyler Murray read my post last week where I called him a bust against the Dolphins. Rather than struggle last Sunday, Murray decided to just post his best fantasy game of the season with 37.6 points.

Damien Harris also didn't do as much as I hoped on Monday, as the Patriots had a surprisingly really tough time with the Jets. The Patriots never had a change to control a ground game which limited Harris to just 7.1 points.

My other bust picks were Zeke and Robby Anderson, and while Zeke is suffered another bad game, Robby Anderson put up fairly good numbers. Zeke finished 8.9 points and now hasn't broke double digits in three weeks. Anderson put up 15.3 points, mostly off of catches as the Panthers threw the ball a lot against the Chiefs.

The other players I had picked as sleepers were Cam Newton and Anthony Miller. Although Cam had a fairly good game with 23.6 points, I really expected him to do more against the Jets. If Miller hadn't fumbled in the final drive of the game he would have finished with double digit points, but instead ended up with a respectable but still low 8.9 points.

With those picks behind us, let's move on to Week 10.

QB

Sleeper: Matthew Stafford

Although Stafford is coming off of his worst game of the season against the Vikings (woohoo) I think he still has a good matchup this week. He's playing against a Washington defense that isn't fantastic and doesn't get a lot of pressure on the quarterback besides Chase Young. I think Stafford has a really good opportunity in this game to bounce back and get back on track with fantasy numbers.

Another plus for Stafford is the return of Kenny Golladay. With his number one target back on the field he should be able to exploit the Washington secondary to put up good numbers. In games with a healthy Golladay, Stafford has averaged just under 20 points and I expect that number to be higher against the Washington Football Team.

Bust: Joe Burrow

Although the rookie has put together a good season so far, I think this is another game where he has to write it off as a learning experience. The Steelers defense is still really good, even after the Cowboys scare, and I expect them to really limit Burrow on Sunday. In another game earlier this season against a tough defense like the Ravens, he finished the game with only 4 points.

Although I think Burrow has a chance to keep the Bengals in the game against the Steelers, the signs point to the Steelers controlling this one start to finish. The Steelers need a bounce back game to restate their NFL dominance and the Bengals are going to be the victims of it.

RB

Sleeper: Duke Johnson

With David Johnson likely missing this weeks game, Duke Johnson is in a good spot to lead the Texans backfield. Last week after David Johnson went down, Duke stepped up to finish the game with 15.3 points. I think he should be able to replicate this type of game this next week against the Browns.

Even if David does play, I expect it would be on a limited snap count, which would still give Duke good upside. Duke is also still a large part of the Texans passing game which will always boost his numbers in traditional PPR leagues.

Bust: Derrick Henry

A hot take for sure, but this is a form of me hoping he has a bad game this week. Granted, last week against the Bears he ran for only 68 yards and finished with 6.8 points. At this point Henry has little action in the passing game so he won't see many points for receptions, and when he plays good defenses he has to try to just run through them. This week against the Colts on Thursday night, I think he'll be limited for a small game.

The Colts did a god job of limiting the Ravens last week, and I think they're looking to make a statement against the Titans. I believe they are going to dedicate the game to slowing down Henry so they have the ability to control the pace of the game. Although Henry could still just not care, run through all eleven defenders, and finish with 40+ points, but hopefully not.

WR

Sleeper: Christian Kirk

Christian Kirk has quietly scored 5 touchdowns in the last three games, putting up more than 20 points in each of those games. Although he has to fight for targets against DeAndre Hopkins, Kirk has been a valuable target for Kyler Murray. I think Kirk continues to shine this week against the Bills as teams fight to cover Hopkins.

The Bills secondary was also tested against the Seahawks last week, and they gave up 390 passing yards and 2 touchdowns. I think Kirk can see a lot of yards this week, and hopefully keep his touchdown streak alive.

Busts: Travis Fulgham

To begin, I don't trust any Eagles player right now. The team sucks and it looks like Carson Wentz is just making stuff up as he goes out there. Since Fulgham broke out in week 4, he hasn't failed to reach double digit points yet. He's seen consistent targets and scored 4 touchdowns in 5 games. However, Jalen Reagor and Alshon Jefferey are back. I'm not saying they'll do a lot better than Fulgham, but there is not a lot more competition for targets on the Eagles. Miles Sanders is also coming back, and he is just as valuable in the passing game.

The Eagles have a good matchup against the Giants this week, I think the return of all of the weapons will negatively effect Fulgham. He still might see targets this week, but I expect it to start declining beginning this week.
