Fantasy Football Outlook Week 11

Last week seemed to be a big down week for a lot of big name players. It worked in my favor as I won some matchups that I should have had no chance in, so I'm not complaining. Out of the three players I choose to bust last week, it's safe to say that all of them did. Joe Burrow dropped a 12 point dud, not because he played bad but because the Steelers defense shut him down. Derrick Henry didn't have a bad night, but he didn't put up numbers that are expected of him with only 11.9 points. Travis Fulgham was the worst of the bunch, only bringing in one catch for 8 yards for 1.8 points. His value is definitely hurt by the return of Jalen Reagor and Alshon Jeffery.

The players I choose as sleeper picks didn't do much better. Although Matthew Stafford but up big points with 23, I thought he still could've had more against the Washington Football Team. Duke Johnson finished with only 5.4 points after a really sloppy game against the Browns. I'm starting to think that the teams that play the Browns never have any good offensive performances after watching them play the Raiders and the Texans. Christian Kirk didn't have a terrible game either, he was just greatly overshadowed by DeAndre Hopkins, and ended up with 6.7 points. Hopefully we have some more luck this week.

QB

Sleeper: Joe Flacco

Alright hear me out, this is really only a case if you had Drew Brees or Teddy Bridgewater and need a one game replacement. Not to jinx it, but Flacco didn't like bad against the Patriots a few weeks ago. He seems to have a really good connection with Jamison Crowder and I think he could actually play pretty good against the Chargers this week. It's still the Jets so I don't count on them to win the game, but Flacco could keep them in it.

It seems like the Chargers find a new way to lose every single week, so it wouldn't surprise me if they did lose to Joe Flacco. I think the Jets are hungry to win at least one game on the season to avoid further humiliation, and I think Flacco gives them their best chance this week.

Bust: Aaron Rodgers

Partly just because I hate him and he sucks, but Aaron Rodgers hasn't looked as dominant as when he started the season. They almost lost to the Jaguars last week, who mind you are starting a rookie sixth round pick at quarterback. The Packers pull a tough matchup this week against the Colts and their stiff defense. I think Rodgers struggles to solve the Colts, and I'll even say he gets intercepted by Xavier Rhodes for old times sake.

The Colts defense have shut down some good teams recently. They held the Ravens and Lamar Jackson down for a long time, and they didn't allow Ryan Tannehill to do anything last week. I think they can step up big and shut down Rodgers as well, especially if they can handle Devante Adams.

RB

Sleeper: Kalen Ballage

I think this is the last week the Chargers have before they get Austin Ekeler back, so I expect them to use Ballage heavily again. He's received double digit carries in back to back weeks and put up double digit points in both of them. He has a favorable matchup against the Jets defense, and I think he should be able to run all over them.

The Jets defense is horrendous and they allow 121 rushing yards per game on average. I think Ballage will see the bulk of the touches and hopefully the bulk of the yards, maybe adding a touchdown to help out as well.

Bust: James Robinson

The Steelers defense hasn't let me down yet and I don't think they will this time either. Although Robinson has had some good performances in recent weeks, I think he gets stopped this week. He's not a very good receiving back, as Chris Thompson takes that role, and if the Jaguars go down in this game (they will) they will have to rely on a heavy passing game. That would lead to less carries and less overall snaps for Robinson throughout the game.

Robinson has been a breakout this year. After the Jaguars gave up on Leonard Fournette I, as well as most people, counted out their running game for this year. But undrafted rookie Robinson has filled the shoes rather nicely. However, all rookies have games where they struggle, and I think this is going to be his.

WR

Sleeper: Amari Cooper

It's weird to think of Cooper as a sleeper pick as he is normally a fantasy superstar, but he has been scary inconsistent this year. Especially once Dak went down. However, while some people say to bench him, I think he torches the Vikings this week. We can't cover routes consistently unless they go near Harrison Smith. Cooper has a good matchup, but I still hope this pick is wrong.

Watching the Vikings this year I feel like we have given up a big game to at least one player each week, besides the Bears but they suck. Whether it is just a lot of catches, or multiple touchdowns, I feel that some receiver is always having a big game. In this instance I think it will be Cooper.

Bust: Will Fuller

Fuller has tried to take over the reigns from DeAndre Hopkins and he's done a pretty good job, but the Patriots still have Stephon Gilmore. He's allowed just 327 yards and 2 touchdowns on the season, and he will be matched up against Fuller for the whole game I assume. Fuller has a lot of threat on the deep ball, but I think Gilmore takes that away from him this week.

The Texans have also struggled to produce offensively unless it's through Fuller. I think Watson could force a lot of throws to his top target, but that doesn't mean that all of them will connect. I expect a lot of underneath throws that won't go for many yards.
