Fantasy Football Outlook Week 13

A hectic football week, as well as a general week, led to a postponed fantasy football story this week. Looking at my picks from last week I did not do so good. Granted Lamar Jackson and James Conner did not play, but 0 points is kind of a bust from one point of view. The other player that I chose to bust was Chris Godwin, who ended up with 9 receptions for 97 yards at 17.7 points. None of the players I chose as sleepers even reached double digit points. Antonio Gibson took over the Thanksgiving game limiting Alex Smith to just 7.1 points, Zack Moss didn't have a terrible game, but it wasn't fantastic as he only scored 8.4 points, and Henry Ruggs only had 3 catches for 56 yards for 8.4 points. However, that was Ruggs best game since week 5 so I'll count that as a mini success on my part. Hopefully this week is better.
QB
Sleeper: Mitchell Trubisky
Trubisky is not a good quarterback, and there's no reason for him to be on your fantasy team in the first place. However, if you're in need of a sneaky starter, this is a great week for Trubisky. In week 1 Trubisky threw for 243 yards and 3 touchdowns against the Lions, and I could see him repeating that effort in this weeks game.
The Lions are scrambling at this point in the season. It will be their first game under a interim coach, and Trubisky definitely has their number. Through all of the struggles in his career, Trubisky has never lost to the Lions. He has 14 touchdowns and only 4 interceptions against them and averaged over 260 yards per game. There's not a lot of chances to start Trubisky in fantasy, but this is one of them.
Bust: Kyler Murray
The last time I chose Murray as a bust he had his best game of the season to that point. However, that was against a much weaker Seahawks defense than what he will be facing against the Rams this week. I think Jalen Ramsey will do a really good job of containing DeAndre Hopkins and Aaron Donald will keep Murray contained, even if only slightly.
The Cardinals are another team that seem to be sputtering right now. Their offense doesn't seem fully on the same page, and that could be really dangerous when facing a good defense like the Rams. Murray is also coming off of his worst game of the season, only putting up 7.1 points, but it will be tough to rebound against this team.
RB
Sleeper: Wayne Gallman
The Giants are a mess but they're in first place in their division as of now. They're in a really unique position where nobody knows if they're going to tank or push to win the division. I think they're going to make the push in order to boost the team moral, and with Gallman set to be the lead back once again he's almost a must start.
The Giants will also be without Daniel Jones this week after a hamstring injury, meaning they could rely more heavily on Gallman to spark the offense. Colt McCoy also loves to throw check downs so I would not be surprised to see Gallman get some receptions. The Seahawks defense is the epitome of inconsistent, so depending on what team shows up today for them will influence if Gallman has a big game or not.
Bust: Alvin Kamara
This one hurts to write because he carried my fantasy team in the beginning of the season. However, since Taysom Hill took over at quarterback, Kamara's role has been incredibly reduced. In the last two games combined he has 16.7 points, which is under the average for one of his games early on in the season. The Saints just run a different offense with Hill at QB, which really hurts Kamara's value.
Since Brees got hurt the thing that has hurt Kamara the most is the lack of receptions. Kamara had at least 5 catches in eight of 9 games with Brees, but has only 1 reception in the last two games with Hill. I really hope that Sean Payton involves Kamara more this week, but it's a tough risk to take after watching the last two weeks.
WR
Sleeper: Keke Coutee
The Texans are a mess at receiver right now. Randall Cobb has an ankle injury, they cut Kenny Stills, and Will Fuller got suspended for the rest of the year. The leave Coutee and Isaiah Coulter as the primary receivers for the Texans this week. Although Coutee will draw a tough matchup against a good Colts defense, lining up as a number one receiver is guaranteed to draw in targets.
I think Coutee will have a good game due to sheet volume of catches. The Texans don't have a lot of options for who to throw the ball to so you know that Coutee is going to make some catches. Hopefully he is able to use his electric speed to make plays against the stout Colts defense.
Bust: Terry McLaurin
The Football Team really force feeds McLaurin, which means that he will always be able to get points from catches. This week he plays my favorite defense, the Pittsburgh Steelers. They really only have to shut down two people to stop the entire Football Team. If they take away Antonio Gibson, which I think they will, then they can just focus on McLaurin to prevent the passing game.
McLaurin will still score points, I just think this will be a down game for him. If he has a big game I expect it to be off a lot of short passes, or one really big play for the entire game. However, I would bet more heavily that the Steelers are able to keep up with him and keep him relatively quiet for most of the game.
