Last weeks picks went well for the most part. Mitch Trubisky didn't blow people away with his performance, but he did better than some people (aka Justin Herbert) with 12.6 points. Kyler Murray didn't have a great game, as I thought, with only 15.5 points which is far below what is expected of him. Wayne Gallman had a good day running the football for the Giants with 135 yards, but with no touchdowns he finished with 13.5 points. Alvin Kamara had his best game in the Taysom Hill stretch, which I'm overall grateful for, and a touchdown helped him reach 17.7 points. I nailed the receiver picks last week. Keke Coutee had a monster game with 22.1 points, and Terry McLaurin only mustered up 3.4 points. Hopefully the trend continues this week.
QB
Sleeper: Teddy Bridgewater
Teddy has had an up and down season depending on his matchups, but I think he's due for a good game this week. With the return of Christian McCaffrey (hopefully) the playbook opens up for Teddy to get some more points. He still has good targets to throw the ball to with Robby Anderson and DJ Moore, but getting his biggest weapon back (hopefully) is bound to bring him so more value.
The Panthers are also facing the Broncos this week, whose defense has really been slipping the last couple weeks, at least in terms of fantasy points. The Broncos give up the 14th most points to QBs this year, after having a pretty good start to the season. If the Broncos continue to slide it will only help Teddy more.
Bust: Josh Allen
Josh Allen has been lighting it up the last couple weeks, but the last time he did that he also had a steak of 3 bad games where he only put up 2 passing touchdowns. Entering a really tough final stretch of the season, Allen could once again put up a tough streak of bad games. If he's not able to solve some tough defenses, he could have a tough couple of weeks.
The Bills this week play the Steelers, who I always bet on. Although I guess they just lost to the Football Team, but we'll blame it on the offense. The defense will be looking to get back on track against the Bills and I think it will lead to a lot of pressure on Allen. They're going to force him to make a lot of quick decisions that could lead to bad turnovers and mistakes.
RB
Sleeper: Todd Gurley
Gurley has been dealing with a knee injury, but if he is able to play on Sunday I think he's going to have another good game. When he has been healthy this year he has been pretty productive with 3.58 yards per carry and 9 touchdowns. I think he is going to get a lot of carries if he comes back healthy this week, which could lead to a good game against the Chargers.
The Chargers lost last week 45-0, and at this point their season is done. I see them trying to get Herbert to win rookie of the year, but at the same time trying to lose games to get Anthony Lynn fired and get a good draft pick. One way to do that is to score a lot of points, but let the other team score more, which seems to be their style of playing lately, besides the 0 points. Gurley should be able to run all over this weak defense, and I think they're going to let him.
Bust: Chris Carson
The Seahawks have been weird this season. At first they seemed unbeatable with Russell Wilson as an MVP candidate, but now they just lost to the Giants. I don't trust the Seahawks to be consistent, and I don't trust Carson to get the ball consistently. Even when Carson is fully healthy he still only plays about 55% of the snaps for the Seahawks offense, and in a bad game that will lead to very few points.
The Jets defense woke up a little bit, and it feels scary to bet on them this week. They shut down the Raiders rushing game last week and forced them to throw the ball. Of course that worked because they're the Jets and they can't do anything right, but the point is they really limited the ground game. I think they can pull off a similar game against the Seahawks and really limit Chris Carson.
WR
Sleeper: Jamison Crowder
Riding with another Jets pick, Crowder is going to have a good game. He's definitely the Jets top option and he sees a fair amount of targets from Sam Darnold. Last week he had 2 touchdowns, and saw 7 targets. Against the Seahawks secondary I could expect similar numbers.
The Seahawks secondary is just as bad as the Jets. If Darnold is given proper time to throw on Sunday, I think he can have a good game finding a connection with Crowder. The Seahawks allow the most points to receivers this season, and I think the trend will continue.
Bust: DeAndre Hopkins
The Cardinals offense has hit a little lull the last couple weeks, with Hopkins only having good games in 2 of the last 5 matchups. The Giants defense is on a roll, and it will be a real test to see if they can keep up with Hopkins. But the way the Cardinals offense has been the last couple of weeks I could see Hopkins having another down week.
The Giants have come out of nowhere defensively. They shut down the Seahawks last week and haven't allowed more than 20 points since week 9 against the Bucs. They've only allowed more than 30 points twice, and both were in the first stages of the season. I think the Giants defense keeps this game close, and they do that by stopping Hopkins.
